Syed sent me a link to this guy, a former gymnast who now chronicles his training for parkour and is just ridiculously strong. Like, one-arm chinup ridiculous, and clapping handstand ridiculous.
Anyway, I figured YouTube was bound to have something interesting on the topic of ridiculous strength, and sure enough I came across this.
The first time I loaded that up, I missed the first few seconds and I thought it was a fake until I saw the women running around in the background. Just watch the first 40 seconds — I guarantee you won’t be disappointed. (The rest of the video is fairly standard ridiculous-strength stuff, as opposed to the insane-strength stuff of the first 40 secs.)
What’s scary is, this guy (Dominic Lacasse), while clearly world-class, isn’t the world champion in some form of acrobatics, ie. there’s someone else out there who can probably do even more insane stuff. I’m stunned, not least because I’m running out of superlatives.
This, BTW, is why all my children (and anyone else’s children whose lives I can interfere with) will do gymnastics.
good lord - what’s amazing though is how lithesome he is - he’s not some over-enlarged idiot with a torso like a cobra’s head. ow - painful.

this something crazy. and I agree you must interfere to further the cause of gymnasticizing. These guys should do ninja warrior.
