Y’know, I wonder sometimes just how perfect life would be if my only responsibility was to feed myself. I mean, daaaaamn, I’m good at it.
I got back from Pakistan on Sunday and am catching up on my studying, which lost out to Mac and Irti for my time during the trip. So far it’s been a bit uneven — I spent 5 solid hours of study time in the library one day and then cancelled it out by doing absolutely nothing the following day. (I mean NOTHING — I didn’t even venture out of the dorm.)
Today’s been good though. Benazir’s speaking on campus on Tuesday, so I had to race down to campus at 10:30AM to get a ticket (all the tickets available on the web were swept up in 10 minutes flat!), and then managed to scam another ticket so RL could come with me. I wasn’t sure when I would come back to the dorm, so I took a Special K crunchy bar with me to snack on the way. It’s a bit chillier this morning than it has been all week, mostly because the sun is hiding behind some silver-lined clouds, but I’ve started to enjoy the prospect of sunshine almost as much as actual sunshine so that’s OK.
Following that, I spent an hour and a half in the library doing functional analysis, which thankfully is streaming straight into my brain right now with minimal pain. Since I didn’t have time to shower in the morning, I’ve just returned to the dorm to do so in preparation for Juma’a. On the way, I treated myself to a Caramel Macchiato from Starbucks, and now I’m boiling eggs and toasting toast for a quick brunch before I leave for the mosque.
This afternoon will be more functional analysis and some probability and measure theory with more Special K bars and qeema timatar mixed in.
I’m good, I tell ya!
