Dear Diary…

04Jun06

I feel sometimes like I’ve totally given up on this blog. I mean, my last few posts have all been several weeks apart, and I haven’t even written anything I myself would be particularly interested in. And the shame of it all, is that the last couple of months have been a totally fun period of time.

I’ve narrowed the problem, after much thinking, down to two things. The first is my inability to find time to sit down and make this site look like what I want, complete with more pictures and a slightly less severe theme. I’ve been meaning to do it forever, but I’ve only gotten as far as tweaking the CSS and getting the front page to show more than 2 articles. The second, and this perhaps is the biggie, is the lack of anonymity blogging affords. All 10 or so regular visitors know who I am. And the curious strangers who found it on Orkut also conveniently have a full profile of me, including a summary of my taste in music and cuisine. All in all, it’s a little unnerving opening oneself up knowing people will draw conclusions from what one writes … and be able to give the conclusions a face. Mine.

Thus it is that I have neglected to write in continued detail of my impressions of the remaining seasons of Ally McBeal (all done now, I’ve moved on to Curb Your Enthusiasm, which I’m not liking all that much — Larry grates on me, and his wife is a moron). And because this watchfulness is so enervating, I’ve neglected to write about other things, such as visiting the Lake District and Brighton.

And because I have to go get ready for work (again!?), I will not be doing so now. Till next time, dear diary…
